Established in the 1970s, the founders of Ong & Wong group are Mr Ong Kong Lai and Mr Wong Cham Mew. They are chartered accountants of New Zealand and Malaysia and graduates of University of Otago, New Zealand. Mr Ong Kong Lai is a Fellow Member whilst Mr Wong Cham Mew is an Associate Member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. They having collectively garnered an abundance of experience in practice and various commercial industries before setting up the practices. The other partners are Mr. Louis Ong Koon Liang and Ms. Wong Shan Jean.
Our Firm is registered with Audit Oversight Board (“AOB”) of the Securities Commission of Malaysia to conduct audit of public-interest entities and schedule funds. AOB was established to promote confidence in quality and reliability of audited financial statements in Malaysia. Through their oversight, our work adheres to International Standard on Auditing and our system of quality management is in compliance with International Standard on Quality Management 1 & 2 and MIA By-Laws.
Presently, O&W CA has a branch office in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

 MR. ONG KONG LAI

Mr Ong Kong Lai is a Chartered Accountant boasting over thirty years of professional and management experience. He is a founding partner of Messrs Ong & Wong Chartered Accountants. Till this day, he is actively involved in advising many public and private Companies on their restructuring and listing exercises.
Mr Ong began his career with several international accounting firms clocking up six years of experience in auditing and investigations after which he joined an International group of companies where he was in charge of the financial management Group. His diverse experience has covered roles as advisor, liquidator or receiver and manager of a number of companies across a myriad of industries including property development and construction, manufacturing, information technology, plantation, timber, retail, and shipping.
He is a pioneer member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also an Approved Co-operative Society Auditor, Approved Company Auditor and Approved Company Liquidator. He was appointed as the Independent Non-Executive Director of Antah Holdings Berhad from year 2004 to year 2007. Besides being a liquidator for companies under creditors' and membersΓאש voluntary winding up, he is also a receiver/manager and a court appointed liquidator for a few former public listed companies which are currently in winding-up .
 MR. WONG CHAM MEW

A founding partner of Messrs Ong & Wong Chartered Accountants and a true industry veteran, Mr Wong Cham Mew is a Chartered Accountant with more than 40 years of professional and management experience under his belt.
In the early years of his career, he served with the Inland Revenue Department of Malaysia. This paved the way for future growth as he later took up senior management positions in the private sector, before venturing into professional accounting practice in 1977.
Mr Wong is also a licensed company auditor, licensed company liquidator and tax agent. In addition, he is an approved cooperative societies auditor and has in the past acted as an independent non-executive director for several public listed companies. He is also a receiver/manager and a court appointed liquidator for a few former public listed companies which are currently in winding-up other than companies under creditors' and members voluntary winding up.
 MR. Louis Ong Koon Liang

With many years of professional experience in audit and assurance, Louis is vastly proficient in the field and specializes in leading audit assignments of our firm’s major clients. He has served an impressive list of public listed companies and large SMEs spanning a wide spectrum of industries. Additionally, he has been involved in financial due diligence reviews, reporting accountant engagements on initial public offerings and fund raising exercises.
An all-rounded expert, Louis continues honing his expertise by keeping up to date with latest industry developments. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (FCCA), and a registered partner with the Audit Oversight Board. He is also an approved GST Consultant.
 Ms. WONG SHAN JEAN

Ms. Wong Shan Jean is currently a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Chartered Institute of Tax Malaysia and CPA Australia. She is also an approved licensed auditor and registered income tax agent. She obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance, from the Curtin University of Perth, Western Australia in 1996.
She has more than 25 years of practical experience in providing audit and taxation services. In her earlier career, she worked in one of the Big 4 and later, as an accountant in a US-based Multi-national Corporation (MNC) overseeing shared services and handling tax affairs for a couple of years. After that, she took a career change and obtained her income tax licence and subsequently obtained her audit licence. She is now one of the partners of Ong & Wong Chartered Accountants.

A key member of OWT is Mr. Cheng Yew Leak, Senior Manager of OWT. He 1s an associate member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and has more than 20 years of experience in the area of tax compliance and advisory covers several industry segments including the manufacturing, trading, service, property development and construction sector.
The key members of O & M are Ms Wong Shan May (the named Company Secretary) and Ms Ong Suan Yi. Together with their dedicated team, they managed a remarkable portfolio which includes a client base comprising from family-owned entities to public listed companies.  MS. ONG SUAN YI

Ms Ong joined O & M since 1993 and continued to pursue her career in the company secretarial profession. She was admitted to Graduateship and subsequently was successfully elected Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Malaysia in year 2005.
During her tenure with O & M, she garnered vast experience in conducting board and shareholders meetings, keeping records of minutes of the meetings, maintenance of statutory books under the Companies Act, 1965 and liaising with various agencies in relation with legal and statutory requirements and all statutory filings.
Currently, she serves as a Manager in the Corporate Secretarial Division, reporting to the Partners of the Firm and supported by a dedicated team of company secretarial executives.
